पहलवानभगवान्ना पहलवान नारायणा गॉव (दिल्ली )

भगवान्ना पहलवान का जन्म 1885 मे नारायणा गॉव मे हुआ था । यह गॉव कभी दिल्ली के पास हुआ करता था । अग्रेजी राज हुआ करता था 18 साल की उम्र मे भगवान्ना पहलवान पुलिस मे भर्ती हो गये । भगवानना की 7 फिट की उचाई उस समय भी लोगो के आकर्षण का केन्द्र हुआ करती थी । धोबी पाट और घिस्सा दॉव भगवान्ना के मुख्य दॉव थे ।

एक समय का जिकर है। भगवाना पहलवान की युनिट कोलम्बो श्रीलंका चली गई जहा पर लोगो ने भगवान्ना को पहचान लिया क्यो कि वहॉ के लोगो ने इससे पहलें भगवान्ना का केवल नाम सुन रखा था आज साक्षात देख लिया । उनही दिनो महान पहलवान राममूर्ती भी श्री लंका आया हुआ था । राममूर्ती ने भगवान्ना को कुस्ती के लिये ललकार दिया । भगवान्ना ने राममुर्ती की चुनौती स्वीकार करली राममूर्ती भी राजा का माल था । जब यह बात अंग्रेजो को पता चली तो अंग्रेजो ने भगवान्ना को कुस्ती ना लडने का फरमान सुना दिया तथा एक कमरे मे बन्द करदिया । अब भगवाना के मन मे एक विचार आया की यदि मै रामूर्ती से कुस्ती लडने ना गया तो लोग सोचेगे की भगवान्ना पहलवान डर गया है। जिस कमरे मे भगवान्ना पहलवान बन्द था भगवान्ना ने उस कमरे की एक खिडकी को उखाड लिया और चुप चाप कुस्ती लडने के लिये चला गया 40 वे मिन्ट मे भगवान्ना ने राममूर्ती को चित कर दिया । उस समय राममूर्ती और भगवान्ना की कुस्ती पर 5000( पॉच हजार) रूपये का इनाम रखा गया था जो भगवान्ना को दिये गये साथ साथ कुस्ती प्रेमियों ने मिलकर 1700 रू इक्टठा कर भगवान्ना को दिये । अग्रेजो की बात ना मानने का परिणाम यह हुआ आज भगवान्ना को सस्पेन्ड कर दिया गया । नौकरी छूटने के बाद भगवान्ना अपने गॉव आ गया और शिव मन्दिर मे जोर आजमाईश किया करता एक दिन भगवाना अपनी किसी रिस्तेदारी मे जा रहा था l पैदल के रास्ते हुआ करते भगवान्ना को रास्ते मे प्यास लग गई रास्ते मे कुवे पर चडस रखा हुआ था जिसे दो बैल खीचा करते लेकिन वहॉ बैल नही थे तो भगवान्ना ने चडस को कुवे मे छोड पानी से भर जाने के बाद दोनो हाथो से खीचना आरम्भ कर दिया उसी समय एक राजा का एक वजीर वहा से गुजर रहा था उसने जब सात फिट उचे भीमकाय भगवान्ना को चडस खीचते हुये देखा तो वो वजीर भगवान्ना के पास आया । भगवान्ना ने चडस खीचकर पानी पिया व स्नान किया । बाद मे वह वजीर भगवान्ना को अपनी जान पहचान के एक मुसलमान रियासतदार जो कुस्ती प्रेमी था के पास लाहोर मे छोड आया । भगवान्ना का ज्यादा दिन लाहोर मे मन नही लगा और एक साल बाद महाराष्ट्र मे कोल्हापुर आ गया । क्योकि कोल्हा पुर कl महाराज भी कुस्ती प्रेमी था और नौकरी करने के दौरान ससपेन्ड होने से पहले कोलहापुर के महाराज से भगवान्ना की जान पहचान हो गई थी ।

कोल्हापुर के महाराज ने भगवान्ना को बहुत इज्जत दी और अपना दरवारी पहलवान घोषित कर दिया । भगवान्ना उम्र मे गामा पहलवान से 15 - 16 साल बडे थे । कहा जाता है। की एक बार गामा और भगवान्ना की कुस्ती हुई जिसमे भगवान्ना की ऑख के उपर चोट लग गई तथा लहू की धारा बह निकली जिसके बाद भगवान्ना ने गामा को उठाकर अखाडे के बहार पटक दिया यही पर इस कुस्ती मे विवाद हो गया और गामा के भाई ने गामा को लडने से मना कर दिया गामा ने यह कुस्ती बीच मे छोडदी जिसके बाद भगवान्ना को विजयी घोषित किया गया । महाराज ने खुश होकर भगवान्ना को सरकारी सम्मान के साथ साथ सोने के दो कडे और सोने के सिक्को से भरा एक थेला भेट किया यह घटना राम सिंह रावत की किताब (रवा राजपूतो का इतिहास के प्रथम खण्ड मे भी दर्ज है। )कुछ दिन बीते थे की राजा के राज मे एक शेर आ गया महाराज ने अपने पहलवानो और कुछ सैनिको की सहायता से जिस खेत मे शेर छिपा था वो खेत घेर लिया अपने आप को घिरता देख शेर जैसे ही राजा की और लपका तो भगवानना ने शेर की कमर मे लाठी मार दी भगवान्ना की लाठी का वार इतना जोर दार था कि शेर का हाड बीच मे से टूट गया कुछ देर बाद शेर ने तडफकर दम तोडदिया । महाराज ने भगवान्ना को गले से लगा लिया जब यह बात महारानी को पता चली तो महारानी ने भगवान्ना के पैर छूने की इच्चछा जाहिर की थी हालाकि भगवान्ना ने एसा ना करने के लिये रानी से विनती की एक बार भगवान्ना अपने गॉव मे आये हुये थे भगवान्ना के खेत मे एक खेत एसा था जहा पर चारो और हरी फसल लहला रही थी पत्थर की कोहलडी को ले जाने मे बहुत सारी फसल नष्ट हो जाती तो मौके की नजाकत को देख भगवान्ना ने पत्थर की कोहलडी को जिसे खीचकर दो बैल चलते थे उसे कन्धे पर रख कर खेत मे पटक दिया था आज बेसक भगवान्ना पहलवान के स्वर्णिम नाम को समय की गरद ने दवा दिया हो हममे से कई लोग आज भगवान्ना पहलवान के बारे मे ना जानते हो लेकिन एक दौर एसा था कि जिसमे माये रात को अपने बच्चो को भगवान्ना पहलवान की बहादुरी के किस्से सुनाती थी । आओ मिलकर इस महान यो़द्धा को नमन करे ।

WrestlerBhagwanna Wrestler Narayana Village (Delhi)

Bhagwanna Pahalwan was born in 1885 in Narayana village. This village was once near Delhi. British rule was there. At the age of 18, Bhagwanna Pahalwan joined the police. Bhagwanna's height of 7 feet was the center of attraction for people even at that time. Dhobi Pat and Ghissa Daav were the main moves of Bhagwanna.

There is a mention of a time. Bhagwanna wrestler's unit went to Colombo Sri Lanka where people recognized Bhagwanna because people there had only heard about Bhagwanna's name before but today they saw him in person. During those days, great wrestler Rammurti had also come to Sri Lanka. Rammurti challenged Bhagwanna for wrestling. Bhagwanna accepted Rammurti's challenge. Rammurti was also the property of the king. When the British came to know about this, they ordered Bhagwanna not to wrestle and locked him in a room. Now a thought came to Bhagwanna's mind that if I do not go to wrestle with Rammurti, people will think that Bhagwanna wrestler is scared. Bhagwanna broke a window of the room in which Bhagwanna wrestler was locked and quietly went to wrestle. In 40 minutes, Bhagwanna knocked out Rammurti. At that time a prize of 5000 rupees was kept for the wrestling match between Ram Murthy and Bhagwanna which was given to Bhagwanna. Along with that wrestling lovers collected 1700 rupees and gave it to Bhagwanna. The result of not obeying the British was that Bhagwanna was suspended. After losing his job, Bhagwanna came to his village and used to practice wrestling in the Shiv temple. One day Bhagwanna was going to a relative's house. Bhagwanna used to walk on foot and felt thirsty on the way. There was a chadas kept in a well on the way which was pulled by two bulls but there were no bulls there so Bhagwanna left the chadas in the well and after it was filled with water he started pulling it with both hands. At the same time a minister of a king was passing by. When he saw the seven feet tall giant Bhagwanna pulling the chadas, the minister came to Bhagwanna. Bhagwanna drank water from the bowl and took a bath. Later the minister left Bhagwanna in Lahore with a Muslim prince who was a wrestling lover. Bhagwanna did not like staying in Lahore for long and after a year he came to Kolhapur in Maharashtra. Because the Maharaja of Kolhapur was also a wrestling lover and Bhagwanna had become acquainted with the Maharaja of Kolhapur before being suspended during his job.

The Maharaja of Kolhapur gave Bhagwanna a lot of respect and declared him his court wrestler. Bhagwanna was 15-16 years older than Gama. It is said that once Gama and Bhagwanna wrestled in which Bhagwanna got injured above his eye and blood started flowing after which Bhagwanna picked up Gama and threw him out of the ring. This is where a dispute arose in the wrestling and Gama's brother refused to let Gama fight. Gama left the wrestling midway after which Bhagwanna was declared the winner. The Maharaja was pleased and presented Bhagwanna with state honours along with two gold bangles and a bag full of gold coins. This incident is also recorded in the first volume of Ram Singh Rawat's book (History of Rawa Rajputs). A few days had passed when a lion came to the king's kingdom. With the help of his wrestlers and some soldiers, the Maharaja surrounded the field in which the lion was hiding. Seeing itself surrounded, the lion leaped towards the king. Bhagwanna hit the lion on its waist with a stick. The blow of Bhagwanna's stick was so strong that the lion's bone broke in the middle. After some time the lion writhed in pain and died. The Maharaja embraced Bhagwanna. When the Queen came to know about this, the Queen expressed her desire to touch Bhagwanna's feet. However, Bhagwanna requested the Queen not to do so. Once Bhagwanna had come to his village. There was a field in Bhagwanna's field where green crops were waving all around. A lot of crops would have been destroyed in taking away the stone Kohaldi. Seeing the delicacy of the situation, Bhagwanna put the stone Kohaldi, which was pulled by two bulls, on his shoulder and threw it in the field. Today, of course, the golden name of Bhagwanna Pahalwan has been buried by the passage of time. Many of us may not know about Bhagwanna Pahalwan today, but there was a time when mothers used to tell their children stories of Bhagwanna Pahalwan's bravery at night.
